How to handle Vanguard and other accounts co-mingling 401k and Roth 401k Contributions

So in my paycheck I have setup everything going into my Vanguard account correctly it all balances out (the transfer from the paycheck versus the buys). The account has an option on how to handle transactions (tax schedule information) (also tax deferred or not) but since this is a hybrid account I can't really do that.
My issue is in the tax planner, it doesn't seem to use the available info from the paycheck to deduct the amount I am putting into a 401 from my tax liability and I am sure it has something to do with this….is there a solution to straighten all this out?

Hello @jlaur_25,
Thank you for letting us know you're running into this issue. Since the Tax Planner uses tax line items to determine what data to pull, it is quite likely that it is not seeing the 401k deduction due to not having the tax line item it's looking for assigned to it. Is the 401k set up as a pre-tax deduction in your paycheck? What category is associated with these transactions? When you go to Tools>Category List, what tax line item is associated with that category?
I look forward to your response!

This appears to be working as it should. I was mistaken in that the 401 pre tax and post tax (Roth) are being treated okay by the tax planner. There was an 'Employee Benefit Medical' that I was counting as income that shouldn't have been, so I am okay now thanks.
