Truist checking account balance will not stay correct

All transactions in my Truist account download correctly. But the balance keeps going wrong by several thousand dollars.
When I recognized this a month ago, I backed up the file before I fiddled with it. I disconnected from Truist, closed and reopened the file, then reconnected to Truist.
Two weeks ago, I manually reconciled my balance and got Quicken to reflect the correct balance. I thought the problem was fixed. Thank God I put the correct balance into the Notes column so I knew for sure the correct balance as of that date.
Today the balance is way off again, although all transactions have been downloaded correctly.
I made an adjusting entry for the difference just so I can see how much money is actually there. But this is MADDENING.
What can I do to permanently fix this issue?

Thank you for sharing your experience. You mentioned this issue started about a month ago. Was there anything else that happened around the same time, such as a program/computer update or an unexpected program/computer shut down? Is this issue affecting only one account? Is there anything that seems to trigger the balance to change? Did you try restoring a backup from before the problem started, to see if that resolved the issue?

Quicken itself has updated a couple of times—I am not positive, but I think this started happening after one of those updates. It is just the one account, Truist checking. And yes, I did restore a backup at first, and it did NOT solve the problem. Manually reconciling the account DID solve the problem temporarily—and then the balance shifted again.

When the balance changes, what is changing? For example, are there extra or missing transactions? Is the Opening Balance changing? You can check if the Opening Balance has changed by restoring a backup from before the issue started, and comparing to that restored file.
