Password Vault ... "Not Required" ??

I can't remember when this started, but now when looking at the Password Vault, under Password Stored, it says, "Not required" for all the accounts … why is that? 🤔

@Banditz71 - PWs are actually saved in the PW Vault and are only required in PW Vault for Direct Connect (DC) financial institutions.
Express Web Connect (EWC) PWs are not saved the PW Vault because they are saved by Intuit. Intuit needs to have them so they can connect with and download financial data which is usually done at night after hours. Then when we run OSU that financial data is downloaded from the Intuit servers into Quicken.
With EWC connection set ups we are still given the option to have the PW saved to PW Vault but it really serves no purpose. If we do opt for it to be included in the PW Vault, when we do OSU we will be prompted to enter the PW for the PW Vault. If we do not opt for that, then when we do OSU it will immediately initiate without being prompted to enter the PW for the PW Vault (unless there are other DC connections listed in PW Vault).
Express Web Connect+ (EWC+) PWs are not saved in the PW Vault because EWC+ does not use PWs. Instead, during the Reauthorization process the financial institution provides a revolving security token which Intuit uses for downloading from the financial institution.
Since both EWC and EWC+ connections have no PWs saved in the PW Vault they will show the Stored PW is "Not Required".
All 3 of the financial institutions shown in the picture you posted with "Not Required" PWs have EWC+ connections which is why PWs are "Not Required".

You are welcome. Yes, many financial institutions have changed their connection methods from EWC to EWC+ and some have also changed their DC support and Web Connect (WC) support to EWC+. There still are a lot of financial institutions that have not made this change. Some might not ever change but the trend toward EWC+ is pretty clearly established.

OH, OK …. I guess all of my accounts have switched their connection types over the past little while … because in the past, they all had passwords showing in the Vault. Thanks so much for the information … really appreciate it!
