More Disappearing Reconciled Transactions

Member ✭✭

I have Quicken Windows Version R62.16 Build 27.1.62.16.

I've noticed in one of my Chase credit card accounts, there are one or more reconciled transactions that have disappeared. Based on the transactions, the missing transactions are anywhere between 6 months to many years ago.

It's going to be a ton of time and effort to figure out what transactions are missing - assuming I can even access statements from a few years ago from my credit card company.

Seems like this is a common issue as I've seen a few threads on this. I've experienced this with other accounts and I've manually fixed in some cases but it was painful!

Seems like Quicken Support provides no real solution aside from suggestions to validate, super validate and lastly, restore from backup…. then the thread gets closed.

I've done the same to validate and super validate and there are no errors. Restoring from backup from several years ago just to fix this credit card account will be a nightmare to redownload, categorizing all of my transactions since.

Has Quicken Support provided any helpful resolution to this issue???

A similar thread for example that just gets closed without a real resolution:

    Hello @juncho,

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention!

To better assist you, could you please provide the following details?

    • Where is your Quicken data file stored? Is it on your local hard drive (C: Drive) or a cloud-based/external drive (e.g.: OneDrive, DropBox, USB, etc.)?
    • When did this issue first start occurring?
    • Were there any significant changes to your system or software before the issue began (updates, new installations, etc.)?

    Looking forward to your response!

    Thanks @Quicken Anja

My Quicken file is stored locally on my Windows machine.

Seems like the issue occurred about 2-3 weeks ago with only one of my accounts (Chase CC Freedom account). I just noticed another account (Chase CC Sapphire) that is now missing transactions. When I posted originally on 4/3, that account (Sapphire) was ok… over the last few days, something happened and introduced the missing transactions issue to that account now.

The only thing I've done is to Validate and Super Validate my data file. This was done after I experienced the Freedom account issue but before the Sapphire issue. There's been no other change to my desktop, etc.
