auto-capitalization (Q Mac)

There are very few text entry situations across multiple platforms where you cannot "instruct" the program/app/computer to automatically capitalize the first letter when typing.

I have searched all over and cannot find how to turn this feature on in Quicken for Mac.

Can someone please direct me on how to accomplish this or confirm for me that, for whatever reason, this is not possible in Quicken for Mac.

For example, when entering a new payee in a transaction, I can't just type the names of the business and have Quicken automatically have the first letter be in uppercase. I know this was an option in the old windows version I used a decade ago so maybe it's been removed form that version also, but I can't imagine why.

Thank you for any help.

Quicken Mac does not have a feature to automatically capitalize words. However, once a particular payee (business) has been used with the correct capitalization, it will be stored in the payee list that way. (If it's not, you can always edit the payee entry to correct the capitalization.) Then when you start entering the first few (non capitalized) letters, it will prefill the capitalized version. You can hit <tab> and the full payee name will be inserted with the correct capitalization.

For example, in my database, in order to enter payee "Amazon", I type "ama" and hit <tab> and the transaction is created with payee "Amazon".

If there are other fields (eg. Memo) that you often use the same way with a payee, then you can create a QuickFill transaction that will auto enter this info too (with the saved capitalization).

    Dear RickO,

I do know about the suggestions you offered. I guess I’m really wondering why it isn’t automatic and then an option to turn it off for whoever wouldn’t want the feature.

Thank you for responding. I just wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing something.

@Alfred Arborn I've asked the moderators to move your post to an Idea topic for QMac. This is now done so people can vote on it.
