What outdoor hobbies do you enjoy?

Happy May everyone! With the weather finally getting nice enough to spend more time outdoors, it raises the question of what outdoor hobbies you enjoy.

My preferred outdoor hobbies are my annual attempt at a vegetable garden, and going on bike rides.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe May!

    Happy May!

Probably one of my favorite months—weather-wise anyway.

Since the weather has started warming up, my family and I just recently got new bikes for all of us, and we have been taking (almost) daily bike rides! I'd say that's probably our main outdoor activity so far. As we start creeping into more summer heat, I'm sure we'll also be going swimming at the waterpark, and hopefully we'll squeeze in a summer trip to a beach or lake somewhere (destination undecided).

I like biking also, my wife and I recently got new Cannonade bikes (on sale) which are really a joy to ride.

Its 104 here right now (3:24 pm) so at the moment my favorite outdoor activity is finding some shade to sit in.

I like to hike fish, by that I mean hike around some lakes and streams that are abundant here. Carry an ultra light rod & reel; then, when I happen to see a likely looking 'fishy spot' toss my favorite lure of the day in and 'maybe' catch a decent size bass, crappie, whatever?? Don't catch many, but sometimes get lucky. Only thing about summer in Dixieland, it does get hot & HUMID! And then of course keep your eye peeled for snakes, not many would ever bother you, but they are around. Copperhead, Rattlesnake and Cotton Mouth are the worse one's. I've even seen a few Bobcat's, they are mostly nocturnal though. And of course ticks, redbugs are a pain at times. Best time for hiking about in woods here would be fall, winter and early spring. Then it's God's Gift to Creation in these parts 🌄
