How can I remove security name from portfolio view Name column

I don't need to know the name of companies in my portfolio. I just need the ticker. How can I customize the listing to only show the ticker?

I don't think there is a way. Would changing the security names to their symbols work as a workaround?

You can make the Name field really narrow, so it doesn't take up much space, and add the Ticker Symbol column, or what I do is to edit the names so they begin with the Ticker symbol.

There's an often overlooked Customize option in the Portfolio View.
When "Also show symbols in name column" is enabled, you can show both the ticker symbol and the security name in the Name column, e.g., "AAPL : Apple Computer"
What you cannot do is to turn off showing the security name, but if you combine @Jim_Harman 's suggestion with this option and narrow the Name column to about one inch, you can get your desired result … sort of …0 -
I will point out this was changed very recently and I personally don't like the change.
Here is a thread on it:

Thanks all. For me, the best solution is to change the name to the ticker. Then I'll remove the ticker from the display.

That is a great idea, I didn't think about that could be done.

If you do this and you have securities that don't have tickers, be sure to give them unique names and un-check their Download Quotes box in the Security List.
