Currently, to adjust column widths can get sort of ornery.

Suggestion: Double click on a column heading and the width adjusts itself to the widest value in that column.

    Hello @Mike Mierzwa,

Thank you for coming to the Community to provide your feedback. To clarify, are you referring specifically to one part of Quicken (such as registers, reports, or Bills & Income), or is this a request for a universal feature that everywhere in Quicken that has columns should auto adjust to the widest value in that column when double clicked?

I look forward to your response!

If you are referring to column widths for reports, there is an active Idea post on that here

Please review it and add your vote by clicking on the little up arrow below the vote count in the first post of the discussion. It takes about 50 votes for an Idea to be referred to Development for consideration.

Quicken made some changes about 2 years ago in R49.22 around saving changes to column widths.

Also for reports that allow you to adjust the column widths, you can now double click on the column separator to the right of a column and it will auto-adjust the column width to fit the widest item in that column. Unfortunately it appears the the Help text was never updated to mention this.
