Pending Online Billers - Windows or Mac

Has anyone ever had a pending online biller go live by itself with having to do something to trigger it? Curious. MANY times in my experience I could unlink, delete biller, readd biller and relink and be working. Seems not to work that way for some now. So being impatient by nature, thought I would see if others experience are "just wait" and it will work again some day.

    Hello @Bob.,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Which billers are you experiencing this issue with?

    Let me know!

    Hi Jasmine. Thanks for asking.

Elan financial services. Number 1 issue

    T-mobile comes and goes

    American Express same.

Real question is is it better to leave it as pending and wait or to delete the biller and readd every few days ?

I could be wrong, but I don’t think a pending ever went live for me without intervention in windows. The above are windows.

For Mac only Elan has the issue. I understand that is degraded. I reported to Fidelity as well. But to complicate things, there appear to be TWO possible online billers that appear to wind up in the same place :

    Fidelity rewards Visa card

    Elan financial visa rewards card

Not at my computer now, so wording could be slightly different, but to me they both wind up at Elan. If one degraded and the other not would be great to know !

    thanks…

    Hello @Bob.,

Thanks again for circling back with those details—super helpful.

To directly answer your question: in most cases, it's better to remove and re-add a biller if it stays in pending for more than a couple of days. Unfortunately, pending billers don’t often activate on their own, especially on Windows, unless something happens in the background (like a refresh or a system update). So if it's just sitting there, re-adding is typically the faster route to getting it working.

That said, based on what I’m seeing right now:

    • Elan Financial, Fidelity Rewards Visa, and T-Mobile are all currently showing as degraded, so even re-adding might not immediately help. We’re keeping an eye on these.
    • American Express, on the other hand, is showing as healthy, but there is a small error rate being reported—so it's not fully smooth either, but it should be generally functional.

    I hope this helps!

@Quicken Jasmine VERY helpful. Thanks so much. Sometimes hard to tell the better choice of action.

@Quicken Jasmine This does not seem correct to me:

As I mentioned, The Fidelity Creidt card is by Elan and either Fidelity Rewards Visa Card or Elan Financial Rewars Visa Card seem to the the correct choices. Do you agree to try Fidelity Investments as both I mention are degraded?

    Hello @Bob.,

    I am happy to help!

The specific post that you referenced is discussing connecting Fidelity accounts for banking downloads, not for billers.

I hope this clears things up!

@Quicken Jasmine Amex is unusual this month in BOTH Windows and Mac. Both have the latest pdf downloaded. Neither have update the monthly bill amount. Historically, that works just the opposite where I might get the bill but no pdf update. Amex degraded? Something amiss?

One more interesting bit: HULU requires reauthenticating at least once a week. SO something uique there as well.

And I hear new Bill provider to come and hoping it straightens out all the biller issues.

    Hello @Bob.,

    Thanks for reaching back out!

American Express is still showing as healthy; however, I do see a small error percentage for documents, which could be related to the issue that you are experiencing. When did this issue begin? Are you receiving any error codes or messages?

The once-a-week reauthentication from Hulu is a requirement by them, as multi-factor authentication does come directly from the financial institution and their servers. I would start by checking the preferences located within your account on the official Hulu webpage for any 2-factor or multifactor authentication settings.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks Jasmine. Amex like this for a month. As mentioned, just the opposite of the usual failure where the current pdf is downloaded both win and Mac but says waiting for current bill or very similar words. Bill has been available for over two weeks through Amex. No other messages.

In Win refreshing bill does nothing. I see no “refreshing bill” function in Mac.

    Elan Visa still down.

Will check Hulu. Once a week just too much.

OK, I tried refreshing the "online connection" and no luck. Then, unlinked and deleted Amex in BOTH Win and Mac and readded the biller.

Worked as expected in Mac. American Express is back as I would expect. But in Win, required oauth and after that and a relinking, still will not grab the bill. Sitting with a "fix it". Odd Mac works and Win not.

    Hello @Bob.,

Thanks for providing more information. Do you use the same data file for Mac and Windows? Also, are you receiving any error messages when trying to add American Express on Quicken for Windows?

    Let me know!

Its impossible to use the same data file for Mac and Windows. You can import ONCE from Windows to Mac. After that, they have to be totally separate. I do find it odd it works with Mac and not Windows. Also that there was no indication of an issue in Mac until I decided to unlink, delete, add as new and relink.

    So, for Win, Jasmine:

    So…

And as long as I have you. this thread isclosed. But I would love to know if and when this bug is fixed. Any place I can watch for that?

    Hello @Bob.,

I apologize for the confusion. To clarify, I meant, are you operating with the same data file that you migrated from Windows to Mac with? No need to answer this question again.

With the American Express biller showing a small error percentage, I would say the best thing to do would be to wait 24-48 hours before attempting to unadd and relink the biller.

For the duplicate bill entries issue, I took a look at the internal ticket, and I can see that my teams are still investigating and working towards a resolution. However, there is no current ETA. I have bookmarked the ticket and will let you know if I receive any further updates!

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks so much, Jasmine.

Something odd in Windows with Amex. Not sure what. But just for example, each delete and readd requires 2 step in Win, but not in Mac. Mac now works as expected. I likely will move to Mac full time once I can see all billers work (Elan the big holdout and my primary card!) Shall see.

I'll post if anything interesting changes - if this topic is still open then.
