Bill Reminders Do Not Clear When Bill is Paid

In order to satisfy bill reminder, have to select:
BILLS & INCOME
MANAGE MANUAL BILLS AND INCOME
ALL BILLS & DEPOSITS
Then click on Status of the bill reminder that did not clear.
Next confirm the payment and amount.
This has been going on a very long time after one of the very unhelpful updates that triggered the error.
Any ideas on what causes this and how to fix it?

Hello @GreyEagle,
What you're describing sounds like a case where Quicken isn’t properly linking your manual payment to the scheduled reminder. This typically happens when the transaction in your register doesn't perfectly match what the reminder is expecting—differences in date, amount, payee, or category can all prevent the system from auto-clearing the reminder.
In some cases, this behavior started after past updates where reminder logic changed slightly, and older reminders just haven’t played well since.
To resolve it, the most reliable approach is to recreate the affected reminders. Here's how:
How to Recreate a Bill Reminder:
- Go to Bills & Income > Manage Manual Bills and Income.
- Find the reminder that isn’t auto-clearing and delete it.
- Click "Add" > "Bill Reminder".
- Re-enter the bill with the same payee name, category, and recurrence pattern that matches how you enter the actual transaction in your register.
- Save it and monitor the next time it's due—this usually reestablishes the link between the reminder and the transaction.
Let me know how it goes or if you'd like help double-checking how it's set up. Happy to assist further.

OK, so you have Scheduled Reminders for your recurring events.
Are these reminders set to "Auto Enter [xx] days before due date" or "Remind me [xx] days before due date"?If the reminders are set to "Remind …", for best results, you should record these reminders BEFORE the due date and BEFORE a transaction shows up in a download from your bank. This ensures that a current register transaction already exists which Quicken can match to the downloaded data.
If there is no current register transaction in existence, there is a chance that Quicken may mis-match the downloaded data to a previously recorded and already accepted register transaction, making it appear as if something's missing from the download.0
