Bills & Projected Balances: Mac vs Win

I am still very new to Qmac. but in Qmac, my credit bills that show up in Bills & Income, will also appear in projected balances, showing me my future cash flow.

Whereas that doesn't happen in Qwin. Is that just Qwin's limitation or am I missing some settings in Qwin. The bills show up ok within Bills & Income, but even aftering linking/creating them as Reminder, they are not being reflected in Projected Balances.

hi @Quicken Anja sure. so the first one is the Projected Balances on the Mac. you can see that my credit cards that I have set as billers will affect the projected balances. It's hard to tell the on the chart because I also have larger amount of cash in on June 19.

but on the Windows version, they don't show up at all, even though they show up in the biller tab.

I tested this in my Quicken Classic for Windows and saw the same behavior—manual bills appear in the Projected Balances tab, but online bills do not, even though they show in the Bills & Income tab.

I checked internally and confirmed that this is actually by design. At this time, only manual bills are factored into Projected Balances in the Windows version. However, I did find this Idea post on this topic requesting for this feature to be added in the future.

If you would like to see this feature added in the future, you can go ahead and add your vote by clicking the up arrow underneath the vote count (see example below) as well as a comment explaining how this idea would be beneficial for you.

Our Development and Product teams frequently use our idea posts in order to improve Quicken and implement new features requested by customers.

@Quicken Anja thanks for the confirmation, I was going bonkers thinking it's my personal skill issue. lol

but why does the Mac have it and Windows don't? it would really make sense for "Projected Balances" to take into account known cash out flows. If you are someone who is planning your cash flow quite tightly, monthly credit card payments are big items to take into account from a cash flow perspective.

As for why the Mac version has that feature and Windows doesn't—I really couldn’t say, since I’m not on the development side. However, with more feedback and votes on that Idea thread, hopefully, it’ll gain enough traction to be passed along to the team.
