USAA -- Downloads for Multiple Credit Cards

I've been having some issues the last couple of months. I have BOTH a USAA American Express card and USAA Visa card. I used to use downloads from USAA Federal Bank and it offered me the ability to link to both accounts. However, now it only offers one or the other, but I can't link BOTH. I've also tried via the USAA Credit Card institution with the same behavior.

Any ideas?

thanks

    Hello @Joe Guthart,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Just to clarify, are both your USAA American Express and Visa cards associated with the same login credentials at USAA, or do they each have separate logins?

Knowing this will help us better understand what might be going on.

They both have the same login credentials — thanks.

    Thanks for confirming!

Before you begin troubleshooting, please save a backup first (just in case).

Then, to start with, please follow the instructions below to troubleshoot and reauthorize the accounts:

Step 1: Deactivate All Accounts in Quicken

    1. Go to Accounts > Hide and Show Accounts and ensure no USAA accounts are hidden.
    2. Open each USAA account register.
    3. Click the Settings gear in the bottom-right corner.
    4. Navigate to the Downloads tab and select Disconnect Account (repeat for each USAA account). image.png
    5. Quit Quicken.

Step 2: Remove Credentials from Keychain

    1. Open Spotlight (small magnifying glass in the top-right corner). image.png
    2. Search for Keychain Access and open the app.
    3. On the left panel, select Login, then choose Passwords at the top.
    4. Search for USAA Federal Savings Bank and USAA Credit Card and delete any entries that say "Quicken password for [your insert username] at Blank Financial Institution".
    5. Quit Keychain Access.

Step 3: Unlink the affected Financial Institutions from Quicken on their Websites

    1. Log into your USAA accounts online banking website.
    2. Navigate to the security settingsprivacy settings, or connected apps/accounts section (the wording may vary).
    3. Look for any references to Quicken or connected third-party apps.
    4. If Quicken is listed, select it and choose the option to revoke accessremove, or stop sharing data.

Step 4: Re-add Accounts in Quicken

    1. Reopen Quicken.
    2. Go to Accounts > Add Account.
    3. Use the search field to locate the financial institution, then click Continue.
    4. Follow the prompts to sign in using your login credentials.
    5. If Quicken finds your accounts, use the dropdown menus to link them to the correct accounts in Quicken.

Once you’ve completed these steps, let me know if you're still experiencing issues.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks Anja — I went through above in great detail and I'm still having the same problem — can't connect BOTH credit cards — it will only let me connect my USAA American Express — it used to allow me to connect BOTH American Express and USAA Visa — pretty much same behavior as what started this thread

Thanks for the update, @Joe Guthart—I'm sorry to hear the issue is still persisting after going through all the steps.

At this point, we recommend reaching out to Quicken Support directly for further assistance. Since you've already completed the standard troubleshooting, a support agent will be able to collect and review your log files and may need to file an escalation based on what they find.

    Thank you!

    thanks for the Support

I finally got this resolved. The issue was that at USAA there was one transaction that was marked as "fraudulent" (which it was), and due to that, Quicken was not allowed to connect to that USAA Visa card. The issue has now been resolved by USAA and everything is working again.
