No option to select Currency
Hi everyone,
I am running Quicken Classic Deluxe version R62.18. I recently had to start over and rebuild my accounts. In doing so, I have noticed that I can no longer designated a currency for an account. For example setting up a new Savings account produces no option to designate currency. The dropdown menu is completely blank. Has anyone else run into this? Quicken support says this is functionality that they are working on, but it used to be there in my last accounts. I don't understand why it would no longer allow for this. It is a big problem when setting up investments.
This seems like a very basic function that should be available.

Hello @cfearman,
Thank you for coming to the Community with this issue. To clarify, is this happening when you are trying to connect a new account in your Quicken, or is this happening when you're trying to add a new manual account? What kind of account(s) are you trying to add? If possible, please include a screenshot of what you are seeing when you try to select a currency. If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.
I look forward to your reply!

I have also experienced the same problem. I am trying to manually set up a CA$ account.
I select an offline account, but there is no option to select the currency.

@AusTx Are you using Quicken Windows Canadian?
This thread is for Quicken Windows Canadian and sounds like a different problem than @cfearman is having.
For your problem, make sure you have turned on Multiple Currency support:
Edit → Calendar and currency → Multiplecurrency support.
The Canadian version doesn't have such a setting since it is always in multiple currency mode.
From the original description of the problem, it sounds like the pulldown menu for selecting the currency is there, just blank. That sort of suggests the currency list in the program data has been wiped out for some reason.
The first thing I would do for such a problem is reinstall Quicken.

@AusTx issue solved! Thanks very much. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled and the the currency is now an option. Amazing that Customer support couldn't provide the same level of support. I spent 45 minutes chatting with them on Friday and the end result was to reach out to the technical team.
Thanks again!

I have added a note to clarify that multi-currency support is always in Quicken Classic for Windows Canada.

I suspect that you accidently had the US version of the program running. We've seen several cases where this has happened and in some cases the program identifies itself as the Canadian version, but the version number corresponds to what is a USA only release. Glad you got it working, regardless.
