Save Report to Excel (xlsx) on Exit

Hi,
I would like Quicken to save (export to Excel) one of my reports, whenever I exit the application. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks!

I know of no such setting. You will need to manually export the Excel report each time you want it saved.

Dang it! And no scripting capability to do this?
Thanks!

I am not aware of any scripting capability with Quicken Classic. What you might want to do is to post a Product Improvement suggestion regarding this at
. If you do post this idea be sure to cast your vote for it by clicking on the triangle below the posted idea and bookmark it like what is shown in this picture of an example of a different Product Idea post:Other Quicken Classic Community members are able to review posted ideas and if they agree with them and like them they can cast their vote for it. The Quicken Team does track posted ideas and if/when an idea gets enough votes (I think ~50 is the normal trigger number) it might trigger them to add it to their development plan. But there is no guarantee that they will do that because they also take into account things like level of effort, feasibility, etc.
Another benefit of posting this idea: If someone knows of any way to do the type of scripting you wish to perform, it is very likely they will post an appropriate reply to this Product Idea.

@rkmorris what sort of report do you want to save on exit?
Quicken user since Q1999. Currently using QW2017.

Assuming your preferences are set to Windows standards, from any report
- Ctrl-C to copy the report to the clipboard
- Switch to an open Excel file
- Ctrl-V to paste in the report
No way to automate that in Quicken upon closing the program. I have heard of 'hotkey'(?) packages that you might be able to use, but I have no experience with them.

@rkmorris Would you have already created the report … and be looking at it when you exit Q?
OR, do you want Q to generate the report and then export it?

For the past number of years I've used a tool called Macro Recorder to automate data collection from the UI. My main two scripts extract my user data from Lifetime Planner and budget and save it to (Excel) text files which are later used to produce consolidated reports via Excel vba.
It's a fairly powerful recorder that leverages (in part) the existing keyboard commands already defined in Quicken's UI. Perhaps it can be helpful for your application. Have a look.
