Unable to connect & download Navy Federal Credit Union credit card accounts [Edited]

Currently running Quicken classic Version 8.2.1 (Build 802.57282.100) on IOS 15.5. Unable to connect to link to and download from Navy Federal Credit Union credit card accounts since this update of Quicken. After multiple relinks, was able to connect some but not all checking and savings accounts.

Navy Federal shows the accounts as linked, but Quicken says unable to open. I see no error messages, except Quicken's "unable to connect" message. I had this problem a year or so ago; it eventually resolved itself. Now I can no longer manually download transactions into an unlinked account.

Another question: is it now necessary to manually back up Quicken even though settings are set for automatic backup to my computer?

Thanks

    Hello @Laneg,

Thank you for letting us know you're encountering this issue. You mentioned this starting when your Quicken updated. Have you tried restoring a backup from before that update?

To help troubleshoot the connection issue you're reporting, I checked our internal tools, and can see a FDP-1022 error with your Navy Federal Credit Union accounts. According to our article on Quicken for Mac FDP errors, that error is most likely on the financial institution's end, since it typically means the financial institution is blocking the connection. Have you contacted Navy Federal Credit Union about this problem?

You mentioned that you're trying to manually download transactions into an unlinked account. Is this a separate issue, or is this the way you update your Navy Federal Credit Union accounts? What is happening when you attempt to import a QFX file into your Quicken?

To answer your last question, it shouldn't be necessary to make manual backups if you have automatic backups set up. However, sometimes it's a good idea to make a manual backup if you just did a lot of work in your file, plan to do something that could potentially make a mess (such as delete an account or transactions), or do troubleshooting. That way, you have a restore point, just in case.

    I hope this helps!

Thank you for your prompt response. Yesterday, I was able to reconnect all but one of the accounts I wished to download from Navy Federal. Today I went in to try to connect that account, and none of my accounts connected. I agree—it's a Navy Federal problem. I ran into this last summer after an update. If all else fails, I'll step back to a backup.

Yes, I was trying to manually download as an interim fix; however, the screen that appeared with I chose "download" on the NFCU site did not offer a choice as to what dates to include. The downloaded files contained all data. So, I'll be in touch with Navy Federal sometime this week. Having the error number helps, so thank you for that. At least I'm up to date as of yesterday, so I have a little time.

    Thanks again!
