Multiple Logins for One Bank - Only One Will Sync (SOLUTION FOUND!)
My wife and I have two separate logins for Chase. I'm getting an error when trying to download transactions. Quicken seems to be conflating the two accounts, so I can only download transactions from one login or the other. I tried disconnecting One Step Update for both accounts (multiple times), but this didn't help. I searched and found a conversation on the Quicken for Mac side that had pretty Mac-specific recommendations. On the Windows side, they said, "Call Quicken." So I did and Joe walked me through a solution. It took about 20 minutes to diagnose and fix, but the solution is pretty straightforward, so I thought I would add it here, since I have seen multiple posts about this issue.
- Remove One Step Update from all affected accounts — including any hidden accounts. Note that, in my case, I had a Chase credit card that had been converted to an AmEx card. Just to be safe, I disconnected that one too. You can do all of this in the Accounts window:
- Under the Tools menu, select Account List.
- Click the Edit button for an affected account.
- Under the Online Services tab, click deactivate.
- Remove bank and account information from account:
- Still in the account edit window, switch over to the General tab.
- Clear the bank name in the Financial Institution box (you can only do this if you've already disconnected the One Step Update).
- Clear the account number.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 for all the affected accounts.
- Reestablish One Step Update:
- Under the Online Services tab, click Set Up now…
- Follow all the prompts for logging into your bank account and linking the proper online accounts to your matching Quicken accounts.
- Repeat this for all the affected accounts.
- Run an update for each account to make sure they are working properly. You should see that, for each account update, the update window shows the institution PLUS the end of your account numbers. (Before fixing this, it will only show the institution name, which is how you know Quicken thinks these are all under just one account.)
I hope this helps you like it did me!
Thanks, Joe!

Hi, @rossnanja. Thank you for this thorough overview. The instructions were easy to follow. And it appears that separate logins from the same institution can be downloaded simultaneously from One Steup Update!
