After the latest product update, transactions for banking stopped downloading and the software syncs with mobile banking even though this feature is disabled.

After the latest product update, transactions for banking stopped downloading…

Sometimes version updates do not install properly and that can cause a variety of issues.

When this happens what usually can resolve the issues is to download and install the Manual Patch Update file from https://www.quicken.com/support/update-and-patch-20182019-release-quicken-windows-subscription-product/ . You can do the installation right over your current installation.

Then restore a backup file from before when you updated the version the first time. If you updated the version using the Quicken Classic software, Quicken would have created a backup of your data file before doing the update and will insert the version information into the name of that backup file as highlighted in yellow in this picture:

    Version_Update from in file name_R38_30.png

This backup file will be in the location you have set up as your Automatic Backup preference.

If you do not find that backup file in that location, go to File > Find Quicken Files. This will search your local drive for all Quicken data files and let you know the paths to them.

…the software syncs with mobile banking even though this feature is disabled.

The software always syncs with the file Cloud Account which is for a variety of legitimate reasons, such as confirming the validity of the license, letting your Quicken.com account tell the software which version you are subscribed to and whether the subscription is active or expired, ensuring that your EWC and EWC+ download connection are still intact and functional, etc., but it does not include syncing of financial data.

This general Cloud Account syncing is not optional and it is not the same as Mobile & Web syncing which will sync the financial data for use with the Mobile and Web companion apps.

To find out what financial data might have been synced with Mobile & Web, log into Web and see what is shown there. If nothing is shown there, then Mobile & Web syncing is not occurring.

If you are interested you can read more about this in this thread: Why does Q Sync with the cloud when it is turned off?.
