Need ability to convert Quicken for Mac file directly into Quickbooks format for accountant. This is a current capability in Quicken Windows.
I'll second this
Are you sure Quicken Windows will generate a Quickbooks file? According to the Quicken Support pages I'm seeing:
Quicken data (Windows only) can be converted to QuickBooks using the data converter built into the QuickBooks software.
That makes sense to me; Quickbooks has created a converter so they can welcome Quicken users converting to Quickbooks. I was surprised to read your statement that Quicken has a converter built into Quicken Windows.
I do see documentation that exporting a QXF file from Quicken Windows can be read by a Quickbooks converter. Is that what you're referring to? If so, does an exported QXF file from Quicken Mac also work?
It's my understanding that @jacobs has this correct and @chud has it backwards.
BUT, the place to double-check this would be on Intuit's QB forum … not here.
According to this thread on the QuickBooks forum their converter, converts the QDF (Quicken Windows Desktop data file) not the QFX file.
So, there isn't any direct way to convert a Quicken Mac data file to QuickBooks:
