had the same problem; I decided to go back and just restore from a backup and remove some of the online billers that aren't clearly available in the latest release.

Then I did a repair and clean of my existing file.

Finally I did an online update of my balances and it did seem to have correct balances. Seems like going from the update corrupted my data file.

This last release was clearly half baked but I guess they didn't have much choice.

"Balances" plural but "checking account" singular. Is more than one account affected? Take a look at the opening balance(s), which are the very first top-most transactions in each register and see whether QWin has corrupted them. If so, correct them.

Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, as of 2025 using QWin Premier (US) on Win10 Pro & Win11 Pro on 2 PCs.

I am having the same problem. Updated this morning on 9-5-25. My checking account is off by $130k with the corruption starting back years. The balances on the summary page dont match the register. I am hoping they come up with a fix soon. This is the first major update problem we have had in the 15 years we have been using quicken. Cant believe they are continuing to let users update 2 days after this was reported.

Same problem here after updating on 9/06/2025. Unable to reconcile my checking account and two credit card accounts. Balances shown in the register are way off.

    Very common problem for years.
I have reported it multiple times to no avail.

Sometimes Quicken changes opening balances. I keep a memo on each opening balance that says what it should be.
i especially notice the problem after having to reactivate downloads from financial institutions.

Well, I figured out my problem !!. During the latest update, Quicken went back in and inserted a half dozen old periodic bill reminders for the last 3 years. That was why my checking balance was $130k negative. All I had to do was go in and delete all instances of the reminders and my balance is now correct. Not sure why it did that. I had also deleted the program and reinstalled a down rev version just to be safe. I won't be updating for some time until Quicken hopefully figures out how to prevent this type of problem.

    Hello @GoldenCO1,

Thanks for the update and for sharing exactly what happened—that’s really helpful for us to understand the impact of the latest update. I’m glad to hear you were able to resolve the balance issue by removing the duplicated bill reminders.

Your detailed feedback is much appreciated!
