Principal Financial 401K account added successfully, but the amount is DOUBLED

The 401K mutual fund investment is displaying correctly - including the share price, number of share and market value. But underneath that there is a CASH line entry with the same market value listed ( I don't have a CASH account ).

Quicken doubled my total market value … wish it was so, but alas it is not.

    Hello @jc999,

    Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue! Does the account use Simple tracking or Detailed tracking? Probably the easiest way to tell is to click on your account to view it, then check to see if the Transactions tab is greyed out.

    If it is greyed out, then you're using Simple tracking.

    If the Transactions tab is not greyed out, then you are using Detailed tracking, and should be able to manually correct/remove the transaction that is causing the balance to double.

    The account uses Simple Tracking as Principal Financial doesn't support Detailed Tracking according to the Quicken popup message when I initially added the account to Quicken.

    Since it allows Simple tracking only, in your Quicken program, when you're viewing the problem account, try holding down the option key on your keyboard, then clicking on the greyed out Transactions tab, and see if it allows you to view the transactions. If it does, see if you can find/delete the transaction that's putting in the erroneous cash balance.

    Manual deleting the offending transactions is only temporary, as the next refresh just adds them back.

    I see there are other reports in this community of the same problem.

    c'mon Quicken, I just purchased a year subscription.

    If the issue keeps returning, even after you've deleted the problem transactions, then I recommend that you contact Quicken Support directly for further assistance, since they have access to tools we can't access on the Community and they're able to escalate the issue as needed.
