Fidelity Zero Cash Balance

Starting approximately 09/23/2025, Quicken began reporting I had an online cash balance of zero on 2 of my Fidelity non-retirement brokerage accounts. When I log into Fidelity directly, they show my cash is invested in their FDRXX (Govt Cash Reserves) fund. Quicken does not list FDRXX as an investment security in either of my accounts. Request Quicken show my cash as either CASH or FDRXX.

This is a known issue and there is a fix planned for it in the pending R65 release. You can read more about this issue and other issues encountered with Fidelity's migration from DC to EWC+ in this Announcement: UPDATED 10/28/25 Fidelity Updates.

    That being said:

    • Which version of Quicken are you running now? If you are not running R64.35 you might want to consider updating to it via Help > Check for Updates. (R64.35 is not yet available for manual downloading and installing via the Manual Patch Update but it should be available via Check for Updates). Or at least make sure you are running R64.30 because it does include some fixes for Fidelity EWC+ issues.
    • When you click on the Cash Balance at the below the Account Register toward the right: Does the amount reported by Fidelity look right or is it incorrect?

In the Account Register: Click on the upper right Gear icon and then click on Update the Cash Balance. Do you see this Cash Representation button?

Or on the Online Services tab of Account Details do you see this Reset Money Market securities/cash options button?:

If so, click on it, close and then reopen Quicken and then run OSU, again. Did that resolve the issue for you? (Some have posted that it did resolve some or all of the issue for them but it did not for me.)

What I have resorted to doing is to manually enter the missing FDRXX-related transactions and to, if necessary, make sure the Quicken amount in the Cash Balance then equals $0. It's not ideal but at least that will then get the Account Balance to match what is shown on the Positions tab of the online account at Fidelity.com. Hopefully the planned R65 version update will truly fix this issue so I don't have to do this anymore.

Thanks BoatnManiac for taking the time to assist. However, I am a Mac user, and the screens, etc, that you mentioned are not available in the Mac version of Quicken Classic Premier. I have been reading many of the posts/suggestions provided by Quicken Support, but I have not been able to get them to work on my Mac version of Quicken. I agree the issue seems to be differences in the way Fidelity and Quicken handle cash balances. I hope Quicken is working on a solution for us Mac users.

@DougMcCann - Dang! I missed that you are running QMac! And then I got hung up on the FDRXX issue and posted the QWin infomation! Sorry about that. Guess I should have had more coffee this morning, huh? 🙄

The Announcement I referenced above is a mix of both the QMac and QWin issues and updates regarding the Fidelity migration to the new connection method. But, yes, it does appear that the comment in it regarding FDRXX is specific to only QWin. BTW, I can assure you (from discussions I've had with some of Quicken's Development Team) that both Quicken and Fidelity are working hard to resolve all of the QWin and QMac issues regarding the migration. I just don't know much about where they are at specifically for QMac regarding FDRXX handling.

@Quicken Janean - Thanks for the QWin information regarding the FDRXX handling issue fix being planned/worked on for R65 (UPDATED 10/28/25 Fidelity Updates). Is there something you can add to that for the QMac folks?
