The balances and transaction signs for my Credit Card at TD display incorrectly.

  • This issue affects how balances and transactions appear in Quicken. Backwards.
  • The account has worked perfectly since 2004.
  • This happened after update to R64.35 on Oct 30, 2025 Screenshot 2025-10-31 at 5.21.49 PM.png

    Hello @IngvarB,

Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. Based on the screenshot you provided, it looks like there's now a large positive balance showing on the card, which is what would cause the transactions to appear reversed. To troubleshoot this, are you seeing any incorrect transactions? If there are no obvious incorrect transactions, one possible culprit is if the opening balance changed. To check if that is what happened, you can restore a backup from before the issue started, take note of the opening balance showing in that newly restored file, then return to your main file (for instructions on switching between Quicken files, please click here) and verify if the opening balance matches that number or is different. If it's different, you can manually correct it (it is also a good idea to document the correct balance in the memo column so it'll be easier to verify if it happens again).

I look forward to your reply!

Looks like you're running a credit balance. Is the balance in red or black? Look back through your transactions and maybe you'll spot one that was entered backward. Or a payment in the charge column or a charge in the payment column. Look around back where this first started happening.  Or maybe you are missing some charges?

If the balance is in Black, it means you have a credit on the card.  Like if you overpaid the bill or got a refund for something you returned.   When you enter a charge it will reduce (decrease) the credit you have available on it.   And a payment will increase the balance.

Also make sure you have the right starting balance.  If it's zero you might need to add a beginning balance for when you started the account in Quicken.  Quicken has been resetting the beginning balance. So you should enter the balance in the Memo line in case it gets dropped so you know what it was.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.
