EWC+ vs Quick Pay
I have used Quicken since the first release with very few issues. I am struggling now to understand EWC+ vs. Quick Pay. I have always paid bills just entering them in the register for WF Bank (direct connect) to pay credit cards accounts set up as EWC/EWC+. I recently checked the Bills and Income tab and authorized the accounts there for Quick Pay. I did a test payment to a couple of card companies and was surprised at the difference. Just paying using Send and EWC+ the checking account was debited and the card company credited basically the same date that I had entered for the transaction to be processed. Never any issues. When I tried the test in Quick Pay I see there is a 3-4 day (or longer) period from debiting the checking account to the card company being paid.
Two questions:
- What is the advantage to Quick Pay that would make it worth changing? Can I just continue paying from the checking account to those companies set up as EWC/EWC+?
- Why do my accounts now not show any new bills in the Quick Pay Bills and Income window?
Thanks for any explanation.

Hello @Ron H,
Thank you for sharing your experience and posing this question.
I think you are asking what the benefit is of switching from Bank Bill Bay to Bill Manager. One benefit is cost. In your case, you have a Premier subscription with Bill Manager Standard included, so you have 12 Quick Pay payments and 5 Check Pay payments available to you, for free, every month. With some financial institutions, you would be charged for this service. I think Wells Fargo has a fee of $9.99/month for this.
That being said, I am not saying there is anything wrong with Bank Bill Pay. It's convenient and reliable, and if you are already established with using it, it's fine to continue that way. You can also take Bill Manager for a test run while still using Bank Bill Pay. You don't have to choose one or the other. Try both and decide which one you like better.
You asked if you can continue paying from the checking account. If you mean, can you make these payments directly from the register, the answer is yes. You would use the check number column to choose an action. If you were meaning, can you continue using Bank Bill Pay and paying things the way you have been, yes. As long as your financial institution offers Direct Connect, you can continue using the service.
As for the Bills & Income section not showing new bills, can you provide more information? Is it not showing monthly recurring bills? Are the bills displayed, but the bill amounts not updating? Screenshots may be helpful. If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.
Looking forward to your response.
