Morning star Portfolio X-ray Stock Intersection

The X-ray should list the % of my portfolio by company in descending order, it does not!

I'd like to to know where I'm invested; Top to bottom.

    It does that for me.

    1. Apple 5.61% made up of the various funds I own that hold Apple and my own holding.
    2. Microsoft 6.36%, ditto
    3. Down the my 50th largest Adobe at 0.2%

Now the fund holdings may be a bit out-of-date (as of 9/30 or 10/31) but that is going to be pretty much the best available data.

I will further add that the percentages are of the total that Morningstar was able to evaluate. If I include a private equity holding or some bonds, those may not be included in the total, the denominator of the percent. Is that what is bugging you?

    Glad yours works correctly.

Mine for example: XRAY INTERPRETER=CASH 88.74%, us stocks 11.26%

    That is obviously WRONG.

STOCK INTERSECTION: the top holding of the 50 displayed is .01%; the 50th is .08%.

    Thanks for your response anyway.

What securities or how many securities are in your account(s)?

Can you selectively choose individual accounts or groups of securities and get rational results?

    Thanks.

Adjusting the selection improved things somewhat but the stock intersection listing is in alphabetical order by security instead of being in order of my holdings percentage amounts. (??) Is there some setting I'm missing?

I have individual stocks, ETF's, and mutual funds. Taxable and IRA accounts.

I agree that alphabetical by security is not a good order for the Stock Intersection list. It should be in order from the largest to smallest percentage of the portfolio, or there should be a setting to choose the order.

Also see this discussion (now closed) regarding other other changes for the worse in the X-Ray. These have been captured with CTP numbers 14261, 14535, 784, and 785.

Has there been any progress on these issues?

Maybe ONE DAY it'll be fixed. It use to work just fine. Apparently they don't do rigorous testing before they release an update.

Curiously, what good is the 'STOCK INTERSECTION if the list is in alphabetical order if the list is limited to 50 entries?

Did you try clicking on the column header to get the sorting corrected?

Does this resolve that issue for you?
