Disappearing ribbon/toolbar?
Anyone else experiencing sporadic disappearance of the ribbon/toolbar? Started about a month ago. Easy enough to get it/them back by clicking twice on the caret. Unable to replicate the issue; it just happens…. 🤔

Hello @jtgdc,
Thank you for sharing your experience and reporting the issues you are seeing from your end.
I have some follow-up questions for you.
- Was there any significant change that happened around the same time this issue began happening?
- Like computer updates or Quicken updates?
- How often does this happen?
- Where is your data file located?
- Is your file being backed up/synced by any third-party services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Carbonite?
Additionally, screenshots of what you are seeing may be helpful. If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.
Looking forward to your response!

Is it possible that you accidentally clicked the "^" icon while moving the mouse pointer across the screen to some other loaction?
I've managed to do that myself, messing up the transaction sort order in a register by accidentally clicking the mouse button while moving the pointer across the register's column title line.0 -
Thanks for the reply. The disappearing ribbon/toolbar happens only sporadically, and I note the issue right after I've done a one-step update and am reviewing each of my accounts for downloaded transactions. It doesn't happen every time after a OSU, and it doesn't always happen in the same account. I don't recall any significant changes around the time the problem began a month or so ago. My data file is located in OneDrive, and I do manual backups. Hope this additional information is helpful.

Thank you for following up and providing that additional information.
I think what you are describing is a strange data file behavior that could be caused by storing the data file that you are actively using on OneDrive. Doing this can cause damage to your data file and is not recommended.
I suggest moving your data file off of OneDrive. The default location is C:>Users>username>Documents>Quicken, and that is where we recommend keeping it.
Once your file is moved, you can then validate your data file. This can help repair damage if it has occurred.
To do this:
- Save a backup.
- Go to File.
- Select Validate and Repair file…
- Check the first box for Validate file.
- Click Ok.
Once the validation has completed, it will produce a report of anything it has found/corrected. Watch to see if the toolbar ribbon issue continues after performing these steps.
Let us know how it goes!

The image you posted shows a green line with a message text. You may want to click the "X" at the right end of the line to get rid of it.
BTW, what version and release of Quicken are you using? (R xx.xx as shown when you click Help / About Quicken)

Thanks, @UKR. Have closed the Quicken Backup promotional message … it just continues to reappear from time to time.
I'm currently using Windows Classic, Version 65.29. The problem persists.

Weird. That seems to be one of those new message formats invented by the programmers that's easy to come, but next to impossible to make go away … just like the "yellow box message" in the One Step Update Summary.
Next time this green message line pops up, try clicking the three-dots icon at the right edge of the message and see what happens
If only the programmers would tell us where, in one of the gazillion Quicken configuration files, the information for this message is stored, then maybe we could figure out a way to eradicate it.

Weird indeed. Actually, neither the "x" nor the three dots is currently functional. 🤔
I've not run across the "yellow box message" in the One Step Update Summary. Sounds like that's a good thing!
