BMO Mutual Fund Prices not updated Dec 19 2025

Was told by support that BMO was a "Direct Connect" and that I should contact BMO about this.

I do not think I get prices directly from the institution. Is it not a service provider from Quicken that provides prices to Quicken users?

    Hello @dc600,

Thank you for reaching out! To clarify, are the mutual funds that aren't updating public or non-public? If they're non-public, then they would rely on the financial institution for updates, since our service provider wouldn't have access.

I look forward to your reply!

They are public..and had previously been updated. Why would i have been so specific about the date if they had not been updated previously?

@dc600 by "Support" I presume you are referring to Quicken's phone or chat support. Regardless of which support provided that information, the advice you received is entirely incorrect and/or not applicable - in more than one sense. Firstly, Direct Connect is not available in any sense to Canadian users. BMO in Canada does NOT use Direct Connect. Quicken Support often fails to recognize and appreciate the differences between the USA and Canadian versions. It is unfortunate that Quicken doesn't have tecnnical support reps that are specially trained on the Canadian version and unique aspects of financial management in the Canadian context. Secondly, the prices for publicly traded securities are provided by a third-party security price data provider, not the financial institution. There would be very few situtations in the Quicken version of Canada where security prices are coming from a financial institution.

If you search this area of the Community, you will find many examples of issues with the Canadian security price data feed. The feed is missing mainstream securities and sometimes misses price updates. @Quicken Kristina @Quicken Janean this is the second example in a one week window of an issue with the data feed and there are many examples of this. This issue is long running and has got no traction with the development team yet. I'd appreciate it if you would raise this issue with the development team. The security price data feed is incomplete and sometimes unreliable for Canadian users. There was also a previous discussion of erroneous foreign currency exchange rates, which I suspect come from the same provider and that issue was never discussed in terms of a resolution.
