CC-800 error

Pardon the long explanation but feel this is all related.
Quicken Window 11 Classic Premier Ver R65.28 Dec 2025
My wife and I have many accounts with Chase Bank including some business accounts for my Charity. My wife's personal accounts (2) has always had a separate login to the bank and is not affected by this issue. I had a login for my personal/joint accounts (5) including a joint credit card. When I opened the charity business accounts (3), they asked if I wanted a separate login in for them, which was set up. I then learned I could not transfer money from my personal account to the business accounts unless my business login also included my personal accounts so I had them change that and updated quicken updates to reflect that.

Earlier this month there was a attempted fraud on the business account so I had the bank sever the shared login to protect my personal/joint accounts so I was back to 3 separate logins. Now Quicken seems very confused when I do an update. It is still crossing the account numbers of the business and my personal & joint accounts thus producing the cc-800 errors for the other accounts.
I have tried deactivating all on-line services for all 8 my personal, joint and business accounts. Closing the file and then reopen it to update the accounts with the proper on-line sign in. When I do that, I do see the proper accounts for my personal login and make all 5 to link to the related existing accounts in quicken. I then do the same for the 3 business accounts and again I see info to link to the related accounts in Quicken.
Now comes the problem, when I do a one-step update, either my personal/joint account or the business accounts will produce a cc-800 error. The error will detail all 8 personal/joint & business accounts opposite accounts. If I attempt to update to on-line info for the business accounts, it then reports that it cannot find my personal/joint account numbers. It is if they are still linked somewhere but cannot find the relationship to sever it. If I then refix the business accounts then the next time it will lose info on the personal/joint accounts. It just keeps going back and forth, I'm pulling my hair out.

How can I get the signon info for updates completely separated? I don't understand when I do a "Reset Account" for personal/joint items that It says can't find info of my business account numbers and visa versa, seems to be a Quicken message.

I don't know if you tried this or not, but what has seemed to work is to disconnect every single Chase Account in the file. As you disconnect each Account you also DELETE both the Financial Institution's name and the Account Number for the Account on the General tab.

(I believe that Quicken moderators in here have also recommend going to the FI's website and removing all 3rd party access permissions too, so you might as well do that also.)

Then start the Add Account process, specifying Chase as the FI. Provide your user identity and password information for one group of Accounts, and Quicken should find all the accounts at Chase using that combination. You carefully LINK each account at Chase with the correct Quicken Account.

Then start the Add Account process for the other group of Chase Quicken Account, doing the same.

I'm no wizard regarding charitable organizations, but it seems to me that you should not mix personal and charitable organization finances in the same Quicken file, but entities that file separate tax documents should definitely never be combined in a single Quicken file.

This separation may or may not solve your CC-800 errors.

Tom, Following up on your suggestions. It looks like the disconnect and deletion of FI and account number worked. I did not have to change the FI 3rd party access submissions.

Thank you very much for the assist.

Off topic. I have been doing this for a number of years without issue.
Easily controlled by having separate categories for charity income and expenses vs personal.
Yes, I do my own filing of personal and charity tax documents for the IRS and State of Florida. I also maintain a separate excel sheet for details on charity activities to avoid QuickBooks or other costly software.
The mixing of them in the same Quicken file has nothing to do with the CC-800 error.
