Is there a way that you can Identify missing reconciled transactions. I am trying to research this, and this is some suggestions that I found. Can something like this be added to Quicken

  1. Identify the missing reconciled transaction
    In Quicken, go to:
Reports → Banking → Reconciliation Discrepancy Report
    This report shows:
    • Deleted reconciled transactions
    • Changed amounts
    • Changed dates
    • Anything that would break a previously balanced month
If the report shows the missing item, simply re‑enter it exactly as it originally was.

How can you expect Q to report on something that ISN'T there?

Q doesn't keep a history of 'what was', so none of your other requests are possible either … without a complete re-design of the database to track changes.

I don't think it would take a complete re-design of the database. It would certainly be fairly complex feature to implement though. Quicken Mac has a reconcile system like this that records the history of the reconciles.

Yes, I was going to note that Quicken Mac's reconciliation history does show what was there — both reconciled transactions and uncleared transactions — as of each reconciliation being saved. Anything which has been subsequently saved is noted in red as changed or deleted.

I just built a new PC and installed the latest quicken for Win 11.

I restored my latest quicken backup and everything looked fine until i reconciled a credit card. there was an error in the cleared balance. after a lot of searching i printed ALL transactions from that credit card into a pdf (500K worth!) and restored an older backup file. Comparing Balance in the pdf (latest) to the month old version I found that quicken had failed to restore the very first transaction in that credit card account (going back to 2021).

I restored the latest quicken back up, re-added the missing reconciled transaction and the problem went away.

    Hope this helps.
