For me, it varies depending on my mood. Ode to Joy (from Beethoven's 9th Symphony) and Last Ride of the Day (Nightwish) are both good ones. Everybody Loves a Nut (Johnny Cash) is also a fun one.

    Great topic choice, Laura!

Like you and Kristina, my song choices each day match my mood. Sometimes feel-good, doesn't always mean upbeat… But for this one, that's what I will share. I don't think I can choose just one, but here are a few.

    Benson Boone - Beautiful Things

Walking on Sunshine - Katrina & The Waves

    Alex Warren - Ordinary

I’ve got a couple depending on the mood!

For a mood lift or feeling sentimental: My wedding song, Can’t Help Falling in Love. Originally by Elvis Presley, but we used the cover by Kinna Grannis. Always puts a smile on my face.

For getting pumped up: I Got a Feeling by Black Eyed Peas. I actually played this recently for my kids’ school pep rally before their basketball tournament, it definitely got the kids going.

Would love to hear what everyone else listens to when they need a boost too!

Wow, hard to say. There are quite a few I like for that feel good feeling. I'm getting up in years, so mine go back a ways. Few months back watched movie with Lee Marvin - 'Paint Your Wagon'. Been years since I had seen it. So, lets just say the original soundtrack version of "Paint Your Wagon!" Like that Song in movie of same title. Several other good songs in that movie as well. 'Call the Wind, Maria', 'Wander'in Star' (maybe sorta sad to some, but heck, picks me up anyway!) Like I said, many others, but that'll do for now. PS. Been reported that Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood didn't get along too well. Google Lee Marvin's deathbed confessions about Hollywood leading men he wasn't 'fond of', if interested?

I don't expect that many of the folks who post here will have ever heard this one, primarily because the musician and composer is not well known. That being said, the song's title is "Winning Streak" by Glen Hansard and it appears on his album entitled "Didn't He Ramble".

I'd describe Glen as a folk-rocker who is a terrific lyricist. I've attended a number of his concerts over the years and I have never been disappointed.

The lyrics in Winning Streak end with this verse:

Through summers long and winters cold

May you always have someone good to hold

And may good fortune be constant and loyal friend

    And may your winning streak

    May it never end.

I love music-I am the odd person who hasn't turned on a TV in 20+ years. :-)

It would be impossible for me to name a song that is my "go to" as a lot of what songs or genre I listen to depends on the mood/vibe of the situation. All genres have their place, and I won't diss on any of them.

I have a friend who has won Grammys for his music production works. We like to discuss music, but it can feel intimidating at times when he breaks songs apart "hearing" the things you and I don't. But, he is really cool and educational about it. And he once he told me about a song I liked that likely was not so great: "Hey, it's a fun song-enjoy it for just that!"

That changed my perspective on music: it doesn't have to be a masterpiece, but if it delivers the accomplished mood (joy, fun, sorrow, etc.), then the musician has accomplished their job. Enjoy what you like!

I just saw this - what a GREAT topic!

Most people are surprised by my choice of music: Anything EDM (Techno) puts me in a great mood. My wife's go-to is Respect by Aretha Franklin. I am also a huge fan of Pink Floyd and George Michael. However when I read this post one song immediately came mind: Just can't get enough by Depeche Mode. Few others:

My Martini music is Barry White. Nessun Dorma, prefer Placido Domingo's version.

Few YouTube favorites: Say something by Justin Timberlake & Chris Stapleton (apparently done in one take!). No Time To Die by Billie Eilish. Skyfall by Adelle. One that probably no one has heard of is Diggin' in the dirt by Stefanie Heinzmann.

I play piano and typically play it by ear instead of reading the notes. My ears pick up every single note and memorize it. Love playing the Moonlight sonata by Beethoven. Always wished I could play the harp tho.

    Cheers

Oh, I forgot to mention one other song in movie 'Paint Your Wagon'. Namely, "There's a Coach Comin' In!" If that doesn't get you up and feeling your oats; well, forget about it 🤪
