My checking and other banking accounts have disappeared from my account and I cannot access them.
I have Windows and this just happened today when I logged on. Installing backup did not help.

Go into Account List (Tools—Account List). Check the box that says show hidden accounts. If you see the accounts that you are missing, unhide them. If you don't see the accounts, you will have to add them back in as new accounts.

More info needed to help you.
All accounts, or only some?
When you do TOOLS, Account List … what shows in the "Transaction Download", "Last Download" & "Financial Institution" columns across from these accounts? What grouping are they in (Personal Spending, Personal Credit, etc)?
While there, click "Show Hidden Accounts" in the lower left corner? Did that help? If YES, click EDIT for the account(s), "Display Options" and UNcheck "Hide Account name …".
When you click HELP, About Quicken, what shows as the Q product you're running and it's RELEASE?
Did you try restoring from only the most recent backup? Or older ones? In doing these restores, choose a slightly different name for the restored file, so that you don't over write your current production file.

This happened to me as well. Main personal and checking accounts are massing as is a rental property asset account. They are not hidden in the account list just gone. Tried to restore a back up from a few days ago and it did not help. Were you able to respond the issue Homerovid?

Are you sure you have opened the correct Quicken data file and not, by mistake, created a new, empty data file instead?
Look in the File Menu.
At the bottom of the menu there's a list of up to 4 data file names.
The file numbered 1 is the currently open file.
The file numbered 2 is the one you used previously. Is that the file you should be using instead?
If present, files 3 and 4 are even older files.0 -
