Large Expense that Really Isn't

Question

I have a checking account in Quicken Deluxe and have removed 1000 from it to invest in a bond fund. Quicken shows this as a purchase in the checking and a XIn in the bond fund when purchased. This balances out just fine, but my Income and Expense shows this large expenditure and it really makes the graph look bad.

How did you transfer the funds from checking to investment?  What does the transaction in checking look like?

I'm gonna take a guess that the (apparently taxable) investment account that holds the bond fund isn't included in your Income/Expense report or graph.

What happens when you include it?
