How to merge transactions from 2 accounts?
My bank changed the way they import transactions into my Windows Quicken Classic Deluxe account last October. I now have 2 accounts that contain transactions with years of history. New transactions are only going to the new account. There are no duplicates; the new account contains data from the first few years and the past 7 months. The old account contains the 20 years in the middle. Because there is no clear beginning and end point to each, keeping them as separate accounts is not ideal. Is there a way to copy all of the old account transactions into the new account?

Sure, if these are banking (not investment) accounts … but FIRST take a backup, just in case.
Also take note of the ending balance in the new account, which presumably agrees with your bank.
All that you need to do is go to the old account and click on the very first transaction in the account,
THEN, scroll all the way down to the bottom and hold down SHIFT while you click on the last transaction.
Next, right click on any selected transaction click MOVE, and select the new account.
Finally, double check the new ending balance. You might need to do some clean-up, probably including deleting what was previously the "Opening Balance" transaction in the new account … as it will certainly be wrong because of all the the transactions moved in before it.
ALTERNATIVELY, you could just declare the old account to be History, close it and simply continue with the new account. If you don't like the results of the move (or don't want to deal with the clean-up) this would be a simple option.
