Issue: The Rental Property Cash Flow Report generates an error message.
Background:
- I recently migrated from Quicken Classic Personal to Quicken Classic Business & Personal.
- The Quicken file includes (1) personal accounts and (2) accounts associated with our rental property.
- This is a single-unit vacation rental.
- There are short term and some longer term tenants.
- A management agency manages all short term rentals, so we have no need to track these in Quicken. We receive monthly rents from the management agency.
- We manage occasional longer term (several months) rentals.
- This property is not classified as a business — it's not an LLC, etc.
- All transactions for this property are categorized using categories specified for the rental property which are linked to Schedule E tax lines.
- The Rental Property Schedule E Report works properly.
Rental Property Tab
- The property has been added to the "Rental Property" tab.
- It is linked to the mortgage.
- Tenant shows as "vacant" — we do not need to track tenants since they are managed by the management agency. We simply receive rents from the management agency.
- Under the "Rental Property" tab, if I click on the tabs Profit/Loss, Cash Flow, Account Overview, these do display data. There is data for Total Income, Total Expense, and Profit/Loss along with Inflow/Outflow.
Generating the Report:
I go to Reports >> Rental Property >> Cash Flow and when I run the report I get a message stating: "Quicken cannot find any transactions that match the current date and customization settings. Try selecting another date range or click Customize to modify the selected accounts, categories, tags, and so on."
Troubleshooting
- Currently, ALL accounts are selected (even ones not associated with the rental property).
- Currently, ALL categories are selected (even ones not associated with the rental property).
- There is data for each of the date ranges tested (this year, last year, etc.)
