Vanguard Primecap converted to Admiral Shares - Quicken shares, value and symbol now incorrect

On May 8, 2026 Vanguard converted VPMCX to VPMAX (Admiral Shares). Now my Quicken shares, value and symbol are wrong. Trying to figure out how to fix this within Quicken so it is consistent with Vanguard's online values. This is in an IRA account so I shouldn't have to worry about cost basis and capital gain. Will Vanguard and/or Quicken fix this in a future download -OR- do I have to manually fix it?

Do you download into this IRA account? If so, what actions were downloaded?

If not, which version of Q are you running? And does it have the "Mutual Fund Conversion" action?

AND, there's nothing to "fix", because nothing's broken. It's merely a securities action that needs to be recorded … which Q can't do by itself. Just as Q can't record buy/sell/etc actions by itself.

No, this will not be fixed in a future download.

The correct way to enter this in Quicken is with a Mutual Fund Conversion. The Mutual Fund Conversion is designed for exactly this situation. It preserves the cost basis and holding period of the old fund in the new fund. It will create one Removed transaction for all the shares in the old fund and one Added transaction in the new fund for each tax lot that you held. This may take some time, so be patient!

You should back up your data file just in case, then delete any downloaded transactions associated with this conversion.

If transactions have been downloaded for the conversion, perhaps one Removed for the old shares and one Added for the new share class, you should delete them.

Note that the Mutual Fund Conversion does not work correctly if you have selected the Use Average Cost option for the old fund. To check this, click on the name of the old security in the Security List to open the Security detail view. If Use average cost is selected, un-check it.

Then in the account where you held the old share class, click on Enter Transactions, pick Mutual Fund Conversion, and enter the requested info. Where it says Shares of new, enter the total number of new shares you received.
