Excel has much more capability than Quicken. Exporting data to Excel via report export allows user to analyze data as needed by user. However, many of the exports produce an Excel file that requires significant manipulation to use. For example, exporting Investment Transactions provides a file of all transactions — but while most transactions are a single line, many transactions are 2 lines of data in Excel, both of which are incomplete. For example, data for a SOLD transaction is on 2 lines, with neither line having complete information regarding the transaction (and 2nd line missing key information i.e. date of transaction).
Reports seem to be formatted for printing - but most users export the report data to do further analysis. In general, make the exports more excel friendly.
