Bill Reminders Are Being "Skipped" or Completely Forgotten

I use Quicken to pay my bills, and have used it for over 20 years.

I absolutely rely on the "Bill Reminder" feature. All my monthly bills are saved in there, with a 27 day billing reminder. For the last year or so, occasionally Quicken appears to get confused about the dates, either marking some reminders as "skipped" and just outright forgetting to remind me.

I've used Quicken for over 20 years, but this is a complete deal breaker. Is there a fix?

I have some follow-up questions for you:

Where is your data file located?
- Please provide the exact file path as shown in the example below.
Is your file being backed up/synced by any third-party services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Carbonite?
Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps so far?
- If so, what were they?
Were there any significant changes to your system or software before the issue began (updates, new installations, etc.)?
Does this always happen with the same reminders, or does it happen randomly with different reminders?

I had the same issue in February(?) with some of my recurring bill and income reminders. Resetting the next due date, reducing the number of days to be reminded or to be auto entered to 27 days or less and removing the auto enter so they need to be manually entered did not resolve the issue.

I did not try doing Validate & Repair because V&R has never "played well" with this particular data file.

I eventually came to the conclusion that the affected reminders had become corrupted. For some of them simply entering the current date as an end date to the recurring reminder and then setting up new replacement recurring reminders resolved the issue. But for others I needed to delete the recurring reminders and replace them with new recurring reminders. I've had no recurrences of this issue since then.

It is not a common occurrence that reminders get corrupted and need to be fixed or replaced but it does sometimes happen. But this instance for me was, I believe, the most significant occurrence that I've had. Still, the majority of my reminders did not have this issue.

I do not recall seeing this kind of reminder issue being posted about before but there have been posts about reminder issues where split categories get changed/corrupted. It makes me wonder if there might be some correlation between these issues. Probably not but it does make me wonder.

I had a number of issues with long-standing reminders suddenly changing dates. I think these issues were strictly with annual reminders, but not entirely certain. I made several attempts to fix them, by correcting the dates, but the problem persisted. For me, the 'solution' (which is more like a work-around), was to just delete the reminder entirely, and recreate them.

@Boatnmaniac 's suggestion about setting the problem reminder to end on the current date and adding a new reminder for the next and future instances sounds like a good idea to me. It phases out the possibly broken reminders.

It just puzzles me that the programmers were allowed to make a change which, apparently, is incompatible with old, pre-change reminders. There should have been code added to Quicken to update / upgrade old reminders to be compatible with the changes.

Nightly 2 AM backup of entire system to Synology NAS, "Active Backup for Business". No OneDrive, no Dropbox, no Carbonite.
When this started happening a year ago I reduced the reminder days from 30 to 27. Now it's happening again. I just got another call today from the bank with the car loan, which I didn't get reminded of, and which therefore didn't get paid this month.
No significant changes to the system.

This is a deal breaker. A search shows this is a recurring bug that has been around for years. I have been assuming it was serious enough that "surely they will fix this ASAP." What can you tell me about a schedule to resolve this issue?
