In my early 20s, I would have said night owl without hesitation. Now that I'm in my 30s, I'm not sure I'd call myself an early bird, but I'm definitely not a night owl anymore.

I still enjoy sleeping in on my days off, but "sleeping in" for me means being out of bed by 9:00 AM. On the other hand, I prefer to be in bed by 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM is pushing it. 😆

If a friend asks me to leave the house after 8:00 PM, the answer is probably going to be a hard no. These days, I value a good night's sleep way more than a late night out!

I'm definitely an early bird. Waking up is always a bit of a struggle, but once I'm out of bed, I feel energized and ready to take on the day. I enjoy getting an early start and crossing tasks off my list ahead of schedule. My brain tends to shut down late at night, so I've always preferred early mornings. ☀️

I seem to be in kind of a transition. For decades I was firmly in the Night Owl camp - I liked staying up until the middle of the night (or later) and then getting 8 hours of sleep whenever I chose to start them, and had no trouble doing so. Sometime in the last 6 months or so that's started to change, and I'm now having a hard time sleeping past 8 am or so no matter how late I stay up. I find myself having to hit the sack "early" if I want to get a decent amount of sleep, and my schedule is becoming dictated by that waking time.

My wife and I have both been retired for a number of years (6 for her, almost 15 for me due to an early retirement).

SO, we sleep late whenever we can and go to bed whenever we get around to it, or run out of things to do or watch.

No set schedule … although our Shih Tsu does provide a wake-up bark when he wants to be fed. We refer to him as the "dogital alarm system".

Without a doubt I am a night owl (and early morning) and wife tries to keep up. Midnight to 5 is my typical, go for a run/surf and then get another couple of hours of sleep before 7. We love to entertain and have friends over for dinner weekly and sit around the table and talk past midnight. I fit in perfectly in various European cultures where they eat very late.

Depends on what's cooking, so to speak. I remember when in first grade, (Note: I've always hated going to school, to regimented); so Dad always had to drag me out of bed on schooldays. On weekends though, up at the crack of dawn! When we first got a TV in 1950's only had 3 channels, one was NBC, other channel was combination of CBS & ABC; other channel was ETV (Educational TV). Before cartoons began on Saturday Mornings, I oftentimes even watch ETV programing about farming, still fondly remember those farmer's riding tractors around 🤣 Anyway, lately reverted back to those early day's, second childhood I guess. So now, up early, get in my hiking, fishing, whatever needs a'doing you might say 😉

Night owl here! There's something special about the nighttime, the cooler air, the silence, and the feeling that you have a little extra time all to yourself.

I love how peaceful everything feels after dark. One summer night, I went outside for a few minutes to look at the stars and ended up staying out for over an hour because it was so relaxing.

That's why I'm definitely a night owl, the quiet nights and calm atmosphere are hard to beat.

I'm definitely a night owl.

I normally go to bed around 1 am and get up anywhere from 8 to 10 hours later.

I can get up earlier and I do, but only for those times that I really need to.

I'm happy to report that I am usually neither early bird nor night owl. I've been comfortably retired for 16 years and can set my own schedule. We never schedule appointments before around 11:00 AM, and schedule dinners with friends for 4:30 or 5:00 PM so we can beat the after-work crowds and enjoy our evening in the Lazy Boys. We can lay in bed having at least two coffees and reading the news before we get up. This freedom is due to our years of planning and preparing for our retirement days. And after these 16 years of retirement, my Quicken still shows our retirement assets are at a historic high thanks to the current federal administration. The only downside is that increasing real estate valuation have caused our property taxes to be outrageous.

In my early 20s, definitely night owl. That was college life, and my body allowed me to sleep in/recover the next day.

As I've aged, I have become far more of a morning person. A few reasons caused this: I like the morning sun, don't have jobs anymore requiring "bad" shifts, preferring not to drive in the dark, etc.

I learned long ago that far more bad things happen at night, so it is safer to be at home in my nest. The days of driving home from a nightclub when the birds start chirping are long over-and I don't miss that one bit.

I still like to eat late/stay up to knock out chores from the next day, but nothing where I am going to sleep the next day away. Life is too short for that. I like to get tasks completed last night/early morning so I can relax the rest of the day (or usually find more to do. :-)
