I am having the same problem with IRA accounts at State Employees Credit Union - NC. When I contact SECU, they say it's a Quicken problem and to reach out to Quicken. I tell them that I think it's a SECU issue and that they need to escalate it with their online services, their IRA services, or whoever can fix it.
Hello @CJ1215,
Thank you for letting us know you're encountering this issue. To help troubleshoot, please provide more information:

I look forward to your reply!
I first noticed this problem after the NC SECU "upgrade" in their protocols. I am able to connect all of my accounts EXCEPT FOR IRA ACCOUNTS HELD AT SECU. When I attempt to set up download transactions for the IRA accounts, the accounts are not recognized by SECU, so the IRA accounts cannot be "added" for download. I have tried "add a new account" and "set up transaction download," neither of which works. I do not get any error message. I have been in contact directly with IRA department at SECU as recently as July 17, 2026 and was told they are aware of this particular issue and they will escalate the matter to the "digital online support team." I have heard nothing further since that time. Daily attempts to make the SECU IRAs link with Quicken continue to fail. If other members are having this same issue, I suggest they call 1-888-732-8562 to complain. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
I responded with the information you requested. Do you have any further information on how to resolve the linking and downloading of transactions for SECU IRA account?
Thank you for your replies,
Based on your description, it sounds like you're being impacted by the known issue since it's not finding the accounts you're trying to add and the CC-506 error is an account not found error. If you haven't already done so, I recommend bookmarking the alert that I linked earlier so that you'll receive notification when there are updates and when the issue is marked resolved. Since you also reported it to the financial institution, and they escalated it, you might be contacted by that escalated department from your financial institution.
Thank you!

Thank you. I will continue to monitor this situation, in the hopes that a resolution will be found soon.
I contacted SECU again today regarding the inability to link my SECU IRA ACCOUNTS with Quicken:
Message Sent to NC SECU: 09/07/2026 02:03 PM I still cannot get a Quicken Web Connect connection for my IRA accounts. All other accounts are downloading, but SECU doesn't even show the IRA accounts when I attempt to set them up for download to Quicken, even though they clearly are on my Member portal. On 7/28/2026 you indicated "A resolution is not currently available, but it is actively being researched. We appreciate your patience." As you still working on this issue? Are you any closer to figuring out why the IRA accounts are not linking with Quicken?
Here is their response:
From: Member Support Sent: 09/08/2026 01:39 PM Thank you for your patience. The internal department has responded as follows.
We see that the member can view the IRA accounts to export and then take to Quicken via Web Connect. If the member is using Express Web Connect, they should also be able to see the accounts. If they are having issues they may need to reach out to Quicken for further assistance.
Quicken support may be able to offer more troubleshooting and assistance. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. As always, thank you for supporting your Credit Union.
LOOKS LIKE SECU IS THROWING THIS PROBLEM BACK TO QUICKEN! Have you had any success in resolving the issue with them?
Thank you for your reply,
When I check our internal tools, I see what looks like successful add account attempts. Since you're not seeing any option to add the IRA accounts, please answer the following questions:
I look forward to your response!
Hi @CJ1215,
The OL-297-A error you’re seeing is part of a known issue that @Quicken Kristina shared earlier. Our team is actively investigating the issue, as multiple customers using Direct Connect are still experiencing it.
In the meantime, as a workaround, please try connecting your account using Express Web Connect by following these steps:
Please let us know how it goes and whether you can connect successfully.
I would add that generally it is not a good idea to manually enter the financial institution name and account number into the Financial Institution Information fields on the General tab of Account Details prior to doing Add Account or Set Up Now. Doing so may (and often does) interfere with a getting a good connection established. The reason for this is that during the account online services setup process the financial institution name and the account number that will try to get entered might be different from how you entered it. That can create a conflict. For example if you entered your account number as 123456 that might create a conflict with the bank trying to enter the account number as 0000123456. Leaving those fields blank eliminates the risk of that potential conflict
I tried setting up a new account procedure shown above, including the "Advanced Options" step. Checked the "Express Web Connect" box. The LINK screen never appeared for these IRA accounts, and I did not receive any error message. Should I try deactivating and then try the add new account procedure?
Thank you. The accounts are showing in Quicken as connected thru Web Connect, but when I do a manual Update, the IRA accounts just do not appear in the update list. I sure hope this gets resolved soon. While speaking with SECU on another matter yesterday, the representative told me she was familiar with the issue, but that "we've been told everything has been resolved." Obviously, this is not the case. So frustrating!
Thank you for letting me know the results, @CJ1215.
And yes, please save a backup of your data and deactivate the affected accounts by following these steps:
Deactivate the affected accounts
Once the accounts have been deactivated, please follow the reactivation steps provided above.
This issue remains ongoing, as indicated in the community alert. We will share any new updates there as soon as new information becomes avaliable.
