when I launch Quicken, the window is minimized, after expanding and adding a transaction, the window will always minimize.
Tell us more about how you're adding that transaction.
Because I just went to the "Bill and Income Reminders" dialog, and selected scheduled transactions to be recorded … and that dialog stayed open after recording the transactions.
Go to Edit > Preferences > Register. If the box for Use pop-up registers is checked, you might want to try unchecking that box to see if that resolves the issue.
I am adding the transaction thru the bill and reminders window like how it is meant to be used. This has been an on-going problem for a long time and it is not just me. I have read many comments about this same issue and there appears to be no proper fix. The subscription is a lot of many for a problem that Quicken cannot fix. Before the software became a subscription, it worked correctly.
"How it was meant to be used" does not help us understand what you are doing when you see this problem.
Is this the panel on a Home Tab view titled "Bill and Income Reminders" or do you go to Tools > Manage Bill & Income Reminders, or something else?
I use the Bills and Income tab and select Bills, Income, and Transfers. There is no way to minimize that without minimizing Quicken.
It's at the bottom of the bank ledger screen. You can expand this or minimize it.
Just to make sure we're all talking about the same thing … You're working with this tab area at the bottom of a banking account register view:
Correct? Is this window tall enough to contain at least 2 transactions?
If I work with reminders in a register, I usually work with the register area directly, where I have enabled reminders due within the next 30 days to be shown as if they were real register transactions already. Clicking on a reminder's Status icon allows me to enter the reminder or make changes as needed. This way I can ignore the tab area … and because I do have a workaround, I don't really know if it has hiccups on my system or works as it should. I'll have to wait until we're a little closer to the 1st of the month, when more reminders come due, to see what's going on.
This is the correct area. I do not enable the reminders in the register area. I do like seeing them in the register until they are due, by my choice.
