New asset problem/error

I'm trying to create a new asset (noncash, high value…). I name it and go to add the opening balance and I get an error message "Unable to create opening balance record." I've tried it multiple times, even changing the type of asset to house/rental property and I get the same error message. I've restarted my computer and restarted Quicken and I get the same error message. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks for reaching out to the Quicken Community.

I tried to replicate the issue but did not receive an error message. For Asset accounts, the opening balance is the amount you enter when creating the account.

If you haven't done this yet. I recommend trying the following steps to add the account from our support article:

• Click the + sign to add an account.
• Select Other Assets & Liabilities.
• Select Assets and then Non-cash assets, any high-value property.
• Enter a name for the account and click Next.
• Enter the date and Asset Value. This amount will be used as the opening balance.

• Follow the remaining prompts to finish adding the account.

Once the account is created, the opening balance should be displayed, and you should be able to edit it if needed.

If the issue persists, please provide a screenshot of the error message you're receiving, along with some additional information about where your Quicken data file is stored.
To check, please open Quicken and go to File. At the bottom of the menu, above the Exit button, the file with the check mark next to it is the one currently open. Please let me know the full file path shown there.
