Quicken currently allows categories to be classified as Income or Expense. However, savings and investments are neither income nor true spending.
I would like the Budget feature to separately track money intentionally allocated toward savings and investments.
For example, if I plan to save $5,000 per month, the budget should show:
• Savings target: $5,000
• Actual amount saved/invested
• Remaining amount needed to reach the target
Transfers between my own accounts should not be counted as expenses, but I still want those savings allocations visible and measurable within my monthly budget.
Examples include emergency savings, investment contributions, FHSA contributions, down-payment funds, and other financial goals.
Ideally, the Budget summary would distinguish between Income, Expenses, Savings/Investments, and Remaining Cash Flow.
