Foreign Currency Conversion

I just converted from Windows to Quicken for Mac.  I use accounts in a couple of different currencies and the transactions are no longer working.  How do you get Quicken for Mac to display and manage the foreign currency translation?

    Quicken for Mac versions do not have multi currency support as the Windows versions do.

    You can have different account in different currencies, but no conversions are performed and they will be summed in with all your other accounts in the sidebar.

    You mean they will be added in the sidebar as raw numbers or converted currencies? The window's version manages the conversion between accounts and states them in their respective currencies in the side bar. Does that Mac version not handle that?

    Raw numbers-QMac performs no conversions.

    So, if your Mac is set to US$, that is what will display in the sidebar. You can set up an account with a different currency, but it will list in the sidebar as US$ and get added in with your Net Worth totals.

    I have the same problem. My whole net wort, expenses, income, what ever  is un real because Quicken for Mac is unable to hand multi currencies. any solutions?

    The only solution is to perform manual currency conversions, by either apply the currency exchange to each transaction amount or by entering a split line to account for the currency exchange.  Beyond that all you can do is add you vote to the link below, and wait until Quicken implements this feature. 

    If you find that QM2017 does not meet your needs, the alternative is to run Quicken for Windows in a virtual machine on your Mac. There are 5 popular products you can use: Parallels, VMWare Fusion, Oracle VirtualBox, Bootcamp or CrossOver. The first 4 require you to also buy a copy of Windows. The first 2 cost $50-80, the third and forth are free. CrossOver also costs about $50-$80 but does NOT require you to buy Windows.

    If you plan to keep your PC & Mac, you could also run Quicken on the PC and use remote access (several free options, e.g. NoMachine and Teamviewer) to access Quicken from your Mac  (or even a tablet or phone) (see this great article for complete review of many options (most are free): http://machow2.com/rdp-for-mac/ ).

    Disappointing there is no true multi-currency support.  Seems a bit misleading to provide a currency selection for individual accounts.  I have a number of foreign currency accounts.  That's the 'last straw' for me; together with poor reporting and cost basis options I am going to abandon the Mac version.
