Exporting a single account to a new file

I want to export a single account from a Q15 Mac file and create a new Q file.
Can this be done and if so, how?

There is no automated way to do this. About the only way would be to make a copy of your data file (give it a very unique name so you don't confuse yourself) and delete all the accounts that you don't want copied. (Hopefully the account you wish to move has no transfers as they will be orphaned.) Then, export that file to QXF and import it into your file you want the account in.

    Make backups before you start!

Thanks: I became the 28th vote for the feature. Just wondering: do Windows owners already have these "advanced" features?

Yes, sort of...QWin still uses the QIF file format also but that has been removed from Quicken for Mac for the use of exporting and importing...At first it appeared that the QIF format was being deprecated but the latest version of QWin has added an enhancement, after years of not having any changes.

Regardless, there still is a need for an export/import format to be user selective in the criteria. We'll have to see if/how Quicken decides of the format of choice moving forward.
