Export a Qif file from Quicken and import it back to check for data equality.

I am working with Quicken for Mac 2006 and Quicken for Windows 2008.
I'm looking for a way to import the Qif file that was exported with all data. Seems to me that Quicken back then should be able to re-import it.
I don't see a way to do this directly with an existing account. I thought about hollowing out an existing account by deleting all or most all data and then importing the exported qif file. What's the best way of deleting all data?

To import the QIF, you may need to set the account name: https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7150541/faq-is-there-a-way-that-will-allow-you-to-import-transactions-from-qif-csv-excel-ofx-files-into-qui
If you really want to remove transactions from a non-investment account register, I suggest you select the range in register (left-click and Shift + left-click) and press Ctrl + D. To remove transactions from an investment account, I suggest you use a customized transaction report, select the range of transactions and Edit > Delete transaction(s).
Before making any significant changes to your data file, always save a backup (press Ctrl + B).
