I have 10 years of data on my active Quicken. How do I break that down into 3 separate archive files

It appears that regardless of the dates selected through the File Operations process, all transactions will be captured through 12/31/2018.

Echoing ps56k's "why" question.File size is almost NEVER a factor in Q's speed. So your Q won't get any faster after you do this, ANDIt's almost impossible to "put Humpty together again".

Plus .... if you break it down into 3 files - are those based upon YEARS -And, if so, then how is your data reflecting "transactions" that have taken place in the "other" silos of data....SO - why do you want to split it up ?

Wow! I'm happy about the quick response to my question. The 'why' was to conserve space, but I suppose in the grand scheme I'll continue to back up regularly and not worry about archiving. I appreciate the response and the references. Thank you1
