Accrued Interest on Bonds Sold?

When you "Buy Bonds", the transaction gives you the opportunity to enter unearned accrued interest which it automatically records as a miscellaneous interest expense. However, when you "Sell Bonds" there's no place to enter unpaid but earned accrued interest as of the sale date. Am I entering the sale through the wrong type of transaction?

    Hello Mark,

Sorry, you have yet to receive a response.

Are you still looking for a solution?

I do not see a Transaction type that offers an option to enter unpaid but earned accrued interest.

This may need to be entered as a separate transaction.

A payment/deposit transaction would be the most generic, this allows for the entry to be a traditional transaction.

Would this work show you what you are needing?

Are you looking at the "Bonds Sold" transaction?  Because QWin H&B appears to have the "Accrued Interest" function.

What you'd put in there is the interest that's due to the Seller ... that hasn't been paid yet.

    Hello NotACPA,

    Thank you for the response.

The Mac version doesn't offer that field.

The "Buy Bonds" has this field.

    Hope that clarifies!
