You should be able to transfer the data files sets recovered to the new system: https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-data-file-set-extensions
You will need to reinstall and update Quicken on the new system. You may want to review:

How was the data on the old drive "recovered" -
as in, what media did they give you back - an external USB drive would be great ?As mentioned above, the Quicken "data" is merely a handful of specific data files...Next, is the software itself. Again, as mentioned above, you will need to step thru installing a couple of different versions of Quicken to get your Q 2003 file converted up to at least Quicken 2017 -EDIT ... also updated the topic title to better reflect the Q&AQWin - R54.16 - Win10

Thanks for the help! Yes, it was given to me on an external USB hard drive. I should have mentioned that I do still have the install disc for Quicken 2003 so I can install it on the new system. Will I still need to update to a new version of Quicken?0

You might want to try to convert to the 2013 version since you don’t use any online services or download transactions now. Starting in 2014 they instituted an ID password to get into your own data. I’m staying on 2013.
You can download 2013 for free (I think it's the Deluxe version) using this how to convert article. It’s under Converting from Quicken 2004-2009.

And FYI - If your Quicken was before 2010 you should have several files making up the data.
The main data file ends in .QDF. All Quicken versions prior to QW2010 store your data in a series of files all sharing the same filename but with different extensions like - .QDF .IDX, .QEL, .QPH and all 4 of those files were rolled into a single-file .QDF starting in 2010.
I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.
