Best way to recover?

My computer crashed but the guys at Best Buy could back up the hard drive. My files are there and I can open them but when I change or add a transaction it disappears. (I guess). What is the best fix? Should I re-install Quicken and then reset all my accounts and re-load (Chase, Schwab, Farmers and Merchants)?

Do you have any backups that were stored OFF of your hard drive?
And, what Q product are you running?  What BUILD of that product?  Do HELP, About Quicken for this info ... and if it's there, what's your "Valid Thru" date?
Hold off on the re-install until we get a bit more info.

  • I do have a copy of the Quicken files stored on a thumb drive. Unmodified since the original crash.
  • My version is 2020 or R26.15.

    Hello @William Weingartner

Thank you for reaching out on the community and telling us about your issue. Based on your previous answers here it sounds like it'd be a good idea to try reinstalling quicken and loading a backup from your flash drive. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky with computer crashes so I would try that out and see if you're able to get some consistency back with your file.

Please let us know how it goes!

    Thanks,
