May 13th, 2020 Quicken installed QW2017R20.5MPatch to my Quicken Deluxe 2017

On May 13th, 2020, Quicken downloaded and installed to my Quicken Deluxe 2017 an update named QW2017R20.5MPatch. Notice the date, that was after 2017 no longer supported. I went to their website "Updates and Release Notes for Quicken", but they do not have it listed to be downloaded because 2017 is no longer supported, and after writing them they will help by giving me a link via email. I would like to have that download in case I have to rebuild my desktop computer. Yes, I am currently still using Quicken Deluxe 2017 since I am not upgrading to their newer software.

The other "Quicken Patch Updates" I have shows me the "Update Information" when I open the file, but this one will not.
I get the message: "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.
Do you know why this is happening?

Not yet.  I am still setting up a VM to test this in since I was curious what the release notes state.

I normally use Norton 360, so I set the Win10 VM up with just Windows Security.
With the network disabled, I installed QW2017 R2.7.  I then updated to R19.8 without no warnings.
I then updated to R20.5 and still did not get any warnings.
So, I can't explain why you got a warning from Defender, but based on my test, the release patch file is safe.  YMMV.

Ok, thanks for checking the warning I am getting. I also received a PM on Facebook from Quicken about this problem too. I sent them the images that I receive on the previous (and all other previous versions) of the "Update Information" and showed them the error I got with the newer version. They are going to wait until Monday to check further.

I just tried this and I do get the warning. It looks like Quicken Inc didn't properly sign the patch.
    Clicking More Info

They have done this in the past.  I'm not entirely sure how the process works, but I believe it is something like build the install package and then apply the "signature", which ensures that the patch comes them.

Most likely there isn't anything wrong with the patch itself, they just skipped a step in putting it up on their website.

This whole process is screwy since they are sending out new updates for a program they say they aren't supporting, and there is no "official" web page for downloading this patch (the one given is a guess based on the previous releases that were stored in the same place, not a official page saying to select XXX link.)

P.S. Once you select "Run anyway" Windows will no longer prompt you like this for this patch install.

Yes, they were exactly the same as the previous release.  Brief, non-descriptive and meaningless.
