Forced to use the CLOUD

This latest update killed Quicken on 4 machines. So I reinstalled and no way to stop using the cloud. Every time Quicken is updated to help fix a problem for everyone it screws up my installation. I DON'T WANT TO USE THE CLOUD ! If Quicken gets hacked everyone is screwed.

You are not "Forced to use the CLOUD".
If you do not wish to use Quicken on the Web or the Quicken Mobile app on your smartphone you can turn off this service while registering your data file to your Quicken ID. Or, you can do so later by going into Edit / Preferences / Mobile & Web and setting Sync to OFF.

You can also check your existing Cloud associations - via the next menu item above...
... Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts

    QWin - R54.16 - Win10

No you can't any more, they changed this recently (which I think is a bug).  Now to see other cloud accounts associated with you Quicken Id you have to have Sync on.
    See this thread:
    https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7877901/a-recent-change-makes-impossible-to-delete-a-quicken-cloud-account-without-sync-on

@KenW it bares mentioning that any data file that does any online activity will get a "Quicken cloud account" created for it.  But that isn't the same as having your accounts/transactions/budget stored there.  The "Sync" option is for that.

But other information is stored there based on what features you use in Quicken.  Like Zillow, Online Bills, X-Ray Portfolio, ... all have some information that is stored in the "Quicken cloud account", but that is pretty limited information.
